I fell asleep on the couch ready for my brain to shut down and for my subconcious to take over. I lied down that day waiting for the answers I needed for the meanings of life. As I closed my eyes and lost conciousness I heard the voices but couldn’t make out what they were saying, English had become a foreign language to me as I was no longer on that mental plane, I was going to a place where language didn’t exist. I woke up in my new conciousness refreshed to see myself stranded in a sea of concrete. The concrete was flat and uniform and surrounded me as far as I could see. It was infinite. I looked up to the night sky which was decorated by millions of stars, some were blue and red, others were a shiny brilliant white. The Horizon consisted of one mountain peak covered in snow and outlined by the light of the stars. I ran towards it knowing I would never reach it. After 20 minutes of the dead sprint, I stopped to catch my breath. I looked up at the night and made out the one constellation in the galaxy. Highlighted in blue stars was a hook. I felt the presense of a being behind me. There was a whisper over my neck and in a slight yet ragid voice I made out the words, “one hook,” “Who are you?” I cried out. “And there was one hook,” the voice said again. I realized he had entered my dreams. I looked up to the sky and screamed until I woke up on the couch. I reached over from the couch to grab a tissue and wipe the beads of sweat that had so delecately lined up on my brow. I saw the figure hovering above me wearing his french coat, and as soon as I saw him, he was gone. “One hook,” I repeated to myself. But what does it mean, what could it possibly mean?
Author’s Note: Wow, can you say ‘intense’? I can.
