The defense attorney’s closing was brilliant in its pantomime, he strolled across the courtroom so cocky and confidently that the jury couldn’t help but be mesmerized. There was no body he kept stressing; the police were charging young Charles Morris with the murder of Christopher Thomas yet they had no body.

“Who knows” boomed the defense attorney; “Mr. Thomas may walk through those doors right now!?” All the jury members looked towards the door, and even the prosecutor found his eye wandering back half expecting to see Christopher walk through and make a triumphant entrance. “We don’t know. We just don’t, the prosecution charges this young man with a murder and they don’t even know a murder took place, you have no choice then an acquittal in this case!?” All grew silent.

The prosecutor rose up, “I agree with defense counsel fully, we don’t know. There is no body, there is a lot of evidence linking him to the crime, but there is no body.” He strolled across the courtroom. “I will admit I have my doubts on Mr. Morris’ guilt, or at least I had them, in fact, I had them until only a moment ago. When defense counsel pointed out that there was no body and that Christopher Thomas may walk in this very courtroom I admit that I glanced toward the door, expecting something, we all did, in fact every person in this courtroom looked at the door wondering if Christopher Thomas would enter this courtroom. Everyone but Charles Morris, because Charles Morris is the only one who knows that there is no chance that Christopher Thomas will enter, because Charles Morris knows that Christopher Thomas is dead; he killed him.”

Duckhook watched secretly from the balcony. His master plan was working wonderfully. “If only they knew what this duck had cooked up for them,” said Duckhook. For little did anybody know that Duckhook was some how controlling the court. But how?? How???
